Pathology Report
It came back benign! Yay. She took my stitches out yesterday (tuesday) and she said the scar should be almost invisible in a year. I'm very happy that she won't have to cut me back open and I don't have to deal with it all. Thought I would share my good news.

My Doctor Appointment
A couple of years ago I got this spot on my leg that appeared to be a new freckle. Then it started to become a bump on my leg and it lost its coloring and was just this hard, clear bump on my leg. I didn't think much of it until it started itching all the time and was kind of sore. So I asked a doctor that I know what he thought and he told me to go get it checked out. So.... Tuesday of this week I went and saw a plastic surgeon (didn't want a viscous scar) and she removed the suspicious bump from my leg, leaving me with 5 stitches on my leg. She sent it off to the lab, and I will get my results next week. However, she predicts that it is basil cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer. I do not use tanning beds or spend much time in the sun. But I burn very bad if i do spend time in the sun, this being the reason she believes I have this basil cell. People who burn are more likely to get skin cancer then people that tan. That sucks! If the pathology report comes back clean, then I'm done and no worries. If it comes back bad then she will have to cut me back open and remove anything under the surface. She decided to not do that the first time because if indeed my pathology report is clean, she felt no need to leave me with a bigger scar then necessary, which was nice of her. Here is a pic of my leg. It really isn't painful, surprisingly since a lot of skin had to be removed. I have a nice dent in my leg! I will let everyone know how my appointment goes next week.

My art work
Since I blog about school a lot, I thought it would be nice to show people what I actually do...

This is a monochromatic painting that I did of a still life in the classroom. I painted this with my palette knife instead of a paint brush, which was a different experience but I really enjoyed the end result.

This is a fabric project that I did. We had to demonstrate the conceptual and literal meaning of the following words: universal, worn and pattern. the universal part was how fabric is universal and so is war. Worn is shown on areas of the fabric (hard to see from photo), where I used sandpaper and made tears in the fabric canvas. The patterns can be seen in the different fabrics, and the patterns of war. Each image represents a different war and I decided to use the sad images to get a strong emotion from the viewer. This summary is sort of confusing, the original description was a page long.

This was a jacket on hanger, hanging from the wall. I did this in charcoal, and I don't even know how long this took! I love the end result though. Goes to show that hard work and effort are rewarding. I got an A on this one!

This was drawn from negative space (it was a ladder, a vacuum, cords, etc. and instead of drawing the objects, we drew the space between the objects) After we did that we went in an filled the space to make it an abstract. I played with different types of shading and texture (texture hard to see in photo)
I also did the eyeball that is on top of my page just for the heck of it.
